San Marco di Castellabate
San
Marco di Castellabate is a hamlet of Castellabate and developed
around the port. It is a famous tourist town and received
the blue flag thanks to the wonderful beach of Pozzillo
(shared with Santa Maria, another hamlet of Castellabate).
There were interesting remains of the Greek – Roman
port and several tombs that are now in the museum of Paestum.
Behind the town there is a wood, Castelsandra Wood, a natural
park with many naturalistic paths.
There are two religious feasts: the one dedicated to the
patron, Saint Mark, on 25th April and the one dedicated to
Madonna della Speranza, in August.
